FAQ

Why should I hire you?

We are committed to your business success and ready to go the extra mile with you. We have satisfied others and we believe you too will be pleased with our service. You can read more here

What are most of your current clients? Our clients fall into two main categories. The first are marketing firms and ad agencies. They subcontract their jobs to me.
They second group are companies for which I work directly. They range from tech firms, real estate brokers, manufacturers, nonprofit organizations and churches.

How much do you charge for your copywriting services?

I try to access the complexity of a project, the level of research and expertise required. So I charge every project differently because every project is different.
My rates are competitive and I am considerate. We may not be the cheapest in the industry but you will not break the bank to get the best you need.

What is your hourly rate?

I do not charge my clients by the hour because I really do not consider the hours I put into a job. What I’m concerned about is quality and that quality is defined by it conversion not prose. People hire me for results and that’s what counts to me.

Will you give me a quote before we start?

Yes of course. We’ll talk and after we have both understood ourselves as regards the copywriting project I will then send you a quote and timeline before work begins.

What are your terms?

I require a 50% deposit upfront for most copywriting projects. The balance is due upon project completing.

What payment method do you accept?

We accept wire transfer as a primary payment option and paypal as a secondary option.

What comes first, design or copy?

This question comes up a lot, and there’s no right or wrong answer. If you already have a design or layout, I’ll work with it, making sure my copy complements and enhances it.
If you don’t have a design, I’ll draft copy and give recommendations for a layout. The bottom line is, whatever your situation, I’ll make it work so that the end result is a marketing piece you’re proud

In what form will you submit your copy?

I’ll provide the copy to you in MS Word sent via email. If it needs to be placed into a brochure, onto a product label, or into a website, your designer/developer will handle that function.

Some copywriting projects evolve. They start as one thing and then grow in scope. How do you handle this? I provide a quote on the project based upon the parameters we discuss. If during the production process the parameters change or the scope grows, then I’ll talk with you about adjusting the budget accordingly. I’m fair and expect that you will be too.

Will you be able to write about my business if you don’t have any direct experience in my field?

Yes. I’ll need to take some time to become familiar with the particulars of your business, its jargon, and your industry at large, but I don’t see that as a formidable task.

I enjoy doing research and will quickly get up to speed. More importantly, regardless of the business you’re in, the same basic marketing principles apply. It’s just a matter of adapting them to your particular situation.

Will you sign a non-disclosure agreement? How about a non-compete agreement?

Yes. You can provide those documents and I will sign them. No worries on that.
I am an ethical and a principled person I will not in any way do what will jeopardize the personal or business interest of my client.

Do you ever provide copywriting services to clients who are competitors?

As previously mentioned, I’m an ethical person. I’m also extremely loyal to my clients. I would never do anything that could harm them or their business, and that would include working for a direct competitor of theirs. I have not been in such situation yet but this happens in business. If a competitor of an existing client calls me or if I sense taking on a new client could be a conflict of interest, I refer the new client to another freelance copywriter.

How long are turnaround times?

Every project is different so I cannot really say here; it all depends on the size and complexity of the work. Once we clarify all the parameter of the work I’ll give you a firm completion date. If you have a deadline to meet, let me know and I’ll do everything to accommodate you.

What if I already have a rough draft and I just need help with copy editing?

You are just in the right place. We also do copy editing.

Who owns the copies you are hired to write?

Everything I do is a custom job. You own the copyright on any copy that you’ve hired me to write for you. I’ll never give it to anyone else. And you can use it any way that you’d like.

Do you also do web design?

No. but if you want me to get you a professional web designer that will suite your need then let me know and I’ll be glad to help out.

You sound like a good fit for my copywriting project. What’s the next step?
